Try to be reconciled

God welcomes back the repentant sinner, but the righteous person who turns from good to do evil is justly condemned for the evil that is done. That is why, in our Gospel reading, Jesus strongly encourages us to be reconciled with those who have wronged us, or we them, before we bring our offering to the altar.

This may not be easy to do, but we must try. If we make the first move, then, at the least, the Lord knows we are open to allow his grace of forgiveness to begin its work in us.
