Victory over the world
How can I be a victor over this world in which I find myself? Is there a winner and a loser? This victory, John says, comes through believing in Jesus and giving him space in my life. Jesus has come to me by the water of Baptism, the blood of the Eucharist and the Spirit. With such a powerful ally how can I have anything but confidence in my conflict with the world and its allure? God’s world is good, but it is not an end in itself, just a means to the end.
