Life after death

As Christians we believe in life after death – after all, Jesus died and rose again to make it possible for us. The Gospel passage is difficult to follow in today’s world, but in Jesus’ time His argument was simple and met the Sadducees where they were. They didn’t believe in life after death, and sought to trap Jesus. He pointed out that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were all dead, so it was impossible for God to be Lord of them unless they lived on after death. We place our hope in the Lord’s promise of our own resurrection.
