Men of faith

With Eucharistic hindsight these men remembered how their hearts burned on the road. This personal, memorial love for Christ is a slow burning form of urgency I need when my evangelising outreach loses its initial fire. Unless my heart burns within me and this burning love is renewed at Mass the many roads I travel and the many outreaches I make in Christ’s name will be rendered fruitless. Somehow I have to let my heart be completely captured by Christ and that is a contemplative action. Christ often hides himself from me with good reason. When I cannot see him or feel him I must activate my faith memory, read the gospel, go over the events in my mind, eat the Eucharistic food.
