Transfiguration of the Lord

Daniel 7: 9-10, 13-14; Ps 97; 2 Peter 1: 16-19; Matthew 17: 1-9

A glimpse of glory

What were the apostles thinking as they saw Jesus transfigured before them? Disbelief? Awe? Bewilderment? All of these things I’m sure. Jesus had tried to prepare them for his suffering and death but he knew they hadn’t fully understood. This then, was a glimpse of his glory after his resurrection. Understanding may still not have been there but one day it would come and they would speak with the authority of witnesses.

Thank you Lord, that through your three dearest friends, we too have a glimpse of your glory.
