Flowering of faith

When Martha says to Jesus that she has come to believe that he is the Messiah, the one who was to come into the world, we are witnessing the full flowering of her faith, the full flowering of her lifetime of openness in prayer. In her coming to faith, and in her questioning, ‘her hidden self’ has grown stronger. No longer is she the worrier or fusspot, she is now the fully mature disciple who leads others to recognise Jesus…
