Better for one man to die …

Sadly, there is often much to undermine our faith in Jesus. We believe in him in an environment that is indifferent, and at times actually antagonistic, to having faith in God. The gospel reminds us of the energy needed for plotting in secret; those haunting words of Caiaphas – “it is better for one man to die” -- that recall all the destructive or false rationalisations for scheming against another and the undermining of the Christian way. We are to be with Jesus, knowing that we rely on him for everything. Today, give yourself the chance to be with Jesus in some moments of stillness, here on the eve of Holy Week, and pray that your heart can be open to him during this coming week.
