Esther 4:17; Psalm 138; Matthew 7:7-12.

A knock at the door

The wise prayer of Esther we hear today is a good lesson for us. She acknowledges God and prays for her needs. She says, “as for me, give me courage”. The Lord wants to hear our prayers and wants to answer them. They need to be from our heart and truly desired, rather than just a passing thought or wish. If we persist in prayer the Lord will answer in the manner which is best for us. Let’s knock at the door and ask the Lord for what we need.
