Staying Alive

Often the ‘narrow door’ that Jesus refers to is ourselves – or in other words, we can be the biggest obstacle in our own lives! We can become casual and unfocussed in our faith (“we once drank ate and drank in your company”) but perhaps we’ve become more remote from Jesus in our thoughts and actions. We can lose sight of what we have been given by Jesus by taking it for granted and then come to realise that what was once alive and active in our hearts has withered away. All that Jesus asks is that we try our best – and we do that by daily renewing our commitment to him through prayer and action.
