We wait for the Lord

In Matthew's gospel we see Jesus' familiarity with the details of agriculture in the surrounding countryside. Darnel is a noxious weed, the seed of which is similar to that of wheat. Planted together the shoots would become intertwined and only distinguishable above ground. Who among us has not wondered why evil appears to thrive in our world and sometimes wished that God would remove or punish the evil? Let us ask Jesus to help us to accept that at the end of time "the Son of Man will send angels" to separate the evil from the virtuous?
