Hosea 10:1-3, 7-8,12; Psalm 105; Matthew 10:1-7

Seek the Lord and his strength

How appropriate it is to pray Psalm 105 on the feast of St Benedict. He is known as the father of monasticism because he established a way of life combining work and prayer based on the psalms. In his Rule he showed the monks how to live a christocentric life of prayer and work. We may not be called to devote our whole lives to religious activities. However in the midst of our busy lives let us seek opportunities to "seek the Lord and his strength" as the psalmist directs us
