At the feet of Jesus

The reflections this month have stayed with Jesus, and we, like Mary sister of Martha, have sat at his feet, a term used when a disciple was learning from a master. Because every disciple is different, your reflections may have been different from mine. That is good. Jesus speaks to us as individuals. In this reading, we leave preached guidance and come to a tender account of healing. Look at the love in this story: the Roman centurion’s love for his servant, Jesus’ love for the centurion, the divine love that can heal from a distance. I can think of no better reflection than to rest in this love.
