Inner light

In Judaism, it is said that the soul is a spark of God, and it’s our task on this earth to fan that spark into a flame. These verses from Matthew tell us that Jesus, the great fire of God, said much the same thing. In fact, the gospels are full of references to inner light. In living faith-filled lives, the God-spark in us grows bright. We become light for each other. The light in you will banish shadows in my life; the light in me may do the same for someone. But do we own this light? Of course not. It belongs to God.
