The Pierced Heart

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the most significant symbols of our faith. When we are committed to answering Jesus’ call, he not only walks with us, he also reveals that our lives are echoes of his. It’s not an easy journey. There are lots of little crucifixions and resurrections, and what is resurrected is always more than what has died. This is the way of spiritual growth. If our hearts are surrendered to him, they too will be pierced. When a heart is broken, God’s love can flow through it into the world. No, it is not an easy journey but it is wonderfully rich in love.
