I shall rescue them … I shall cleanse them
Jesus rested with his disciples in Ephraim before entering Jerusalem. Meanwhile, “the Chief Priests and Pharisees called a meeting. … From that day they were determined to kill him.” Their evil plans are subsumed into God’s plan! Jesus will enter Jerusalem, ready and willing to lay down his life. His death and resurrection will become the source of rescue and cleansing for all who come to him through the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Penance and Holy Eucharist.
Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to walk with you and your disciples into Jerusalem and be your companion through Holy Week.
