Jesus is God’s wisdom

In our first reading, Solomon asks God for the gift of wisdom. What is wisdom? Wisdom is the ability to apply our knowledge and understanding to life; in short, wisdom gives meaning to our lives.

For us, that wisdom is found in the teaching and life of Jesus the Christ. He is the shepherd who will not abandon his sheep. He gives freely of his wisdom to all who desire to hear. To make this wisdom our own is to discover the pearl of great price: the living God.
