Have mercy on me, God, have mercy
David and Saul were both lovingly called by God. But David was the victim of Saul’s distrust. We have all experienced being hurt by others and wanting to strike back in anger. Many of us love a story where the victim takes revenge on the bully. How many times do I get revenge in my thoughts? How often do I compose devastating words of retaliation? David overlooked the malice of Saul and let him go free. The spirit of the Christian is that of Jesus, “Father, forgive them…”
