Prayer in a busy day
It’s all in a day’s work! Jesus goes to the house of Simon and Andrew. He heals Simon’s mother-in-law of a fever, then, later in the day, he heals many more sick people. You’d think that early morning before dawn would be a quiet time for prayer, but Jesus was distracted from his prayer by the call of another busy day. Samuel, from our first reading, gives us prayers for a hectic day. “Here I am, Lord, since you called me,” and, “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.”
