Jesus in our midst
Strangers entering a small town often arouse curiosity. When Jesus preaches at Capernaum, the people are confused. They are fascinated by his knowledge and authority. But, from where did his knowledge come? Who is he? The unclean spirits recognise that he is a danger to them. They know who he is, shouting “you are the Holy One of God.” News began to spread about Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus invites us to listen to his teachings, while going to him with our uncertainties and frailties. He wants us to trust him and thereby become joyful, hopeful, and confident people.
