Relying on Jesus

Sadly, there is often much to undermine our faith in Jesus. We believe in him in an environment that is indifferent, and at times actually antagonistic, towards having faith in God. In our gospel, Jesus reminds us of evil and its determinations, he makes use of the image of a swept house to caution our over confidence in self. We are to be with Jesus, to be for him and not against, knowing that we rely on him for all.
