Hope through suffering

Peter’s reaction to Christ’s information is a classic response of a human being to a god. We want our gods to be gods, not human like us. Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He wants to be part of every bit of my life. When I invite God into my prayer I am inviting him into my weakness. That means I will suffer spiritually as I discover the truth about my relationship to God. In my struggle I am united to Jesus Christ in his very human suffering on the Cross. It is such a hopeful union.
