The power of faith

This Polish Franciscan priest, arrested in 1941 for harbouring Jews, gave his life in exchange for the life of a family man. His sacrifice, a testimony to the power of faith to transform human weakness, challenges my own hesitancy to become involved in another’s plight. Compassionate God, help me truly value your gift of faith and the power it contains to act with courage and to witness with love. Open my eyes to see more clearly the needs around me, and may my service be marked by joy and generosity. Amen.
