Giving all

Poverty is not about ‘having nothing.’ It is about ‘giving all.’ There’s a big difference. I am no good with nothing; I cannot help anyone, maintain, provide or change anything. St Clare embraced poverty with a generosity that enabled her to give of herself, helping others to live with dignity and, in time, to give of themselves. Poverty is less about money and possessions, than about an attitude that recognises everything you have being a gift that needs to be shared. Consider the gifts that fill your life; pray that you can share them.
