Believing in Jesus

Jesus promised that everyone who believes in him shall have eternal life. But what does it mean to ‘believe’ in Jesus? The Last Judgement parable strongly suggests that believing is defined more by more what we do, than what we think. Belief is not only – indeed may not necessarily at all be – an intellectual belief in Jesus, but rather a life lived in accordance with how Jesus taught us to live, that is, to love others. We believe in Jesus when we serve him in our brothers and sisters. ‘Brother sister let me serve you, let me be as Christ to you.’
