St John, Apostle and Evangelist

1 John 1:1-4; Psalm 97; John 20:2-8

Seeing and believing

‘The Word who is life, this is our subject. What we have seen and heard, we are telling you.’ St. John is the beloved disciple who goes with Peter to the empty tomb. John says of himself that ‘he saw and believed.’ John also gives himself the title ‘the one Jesus loved.’ Imagine yourself having a conversation with John, who knew Jesus intimately. What does John tell you about his relationship with Jesus? Recall a moment in your life when you ‘saw and believed.’
