Apocalypse 11:4-12; Ps 144; Luke 20:27-40

Plain speaking

The Sadducees were of the ruling class and did not believe in life after death. Jesus confounded them by using arguments they could easily understand. He talked to them in their own language and met them on their own ground. Yesterday’s gospel had people hanging on His words in the temple for the same reason. It seems to me that we would be much better servants of Christ if we explained Him in simple language rather than with deep theological thinking.
