Choose life, choose abundance

The evil plot to kill Zechariah backfires. The king and his advisers will be destroyed because of the evil they had planned against Zechariah. They will be killed either by an invading army or by the assassin’s hand. Evil, in the end, turns against its own. In contrast, in the Gospel reading Jesus tells his disciples to trust in God as a loving Father. If we set our hearts on God’s kingdom, walking in the footsteps of Christ, we will have life and have it to the full. Goodness produces all that is life-giving, bringing abundance.
