Shout out

Bartimaeus shouts out to Jesus. The crowd attempts to silence him. Stop it. Don’t make a scene. Bart keeps on shouting. Jesus asks, ‘what do you want?’ and the answer is clear: ‘Let me see again.’ This story reminds me of those in our faith community who are shouting out today. Divorced people, gay people, those we can so easily marginalise. May we be more like Jesus and hear their plea, so that we can all see again and follow Christ along the road together.
