We each have ‘riches,’ habits and certainties. Jesus asks the young man to give up everything. The young man has led a good life. Yet there is something that he still remains attached too. He just can’t do it. This gospel isn’t just about money: there are many attachment chains or mini addictions, even religious ones, that bind us. Reflect on yourself today and then meet the steady, loving eyes of Jesus. Pray for the grace to let go one thing that separates you from him.
