FEAST OF ST PATRICK, BISHOP

Jeremiah 1:4-9, Ps 106, Acts 13:46-49, Luke10:1-2, 17-20

Attractive characters

St Patrick and Jeremiah probably had what we call charisma. It is a personal warmth given to those who can lead people. The prophet has a warm personal relationship with God. St. Patrick had it too. Like him I need to look at Christ’s warm relationship with his Father and imitate Christ’s prayer life. It is good to know that God knows my name and loves me personally. This reminds me that my personhood and appeal are rooted in heaven.
