St Therese of the Child Jesus.

Nehemiah 8:1-12, Ps 19, Luke 10:1-12

On mission

We read in Luke 10 that “The Lord appointed seventy two others and sent them out ahead of him, to all the towns and places he himself was to visit.” St Therese wanted to be a missionary. She had a missionary spirit but her health made this impossible. She found her own “little way” of living God’s mission. In Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis says, “being a disciple means being constantly ready to bring the love of Jesus to others, on the street, in the city square, during work, on a journey.” We bring the love of Jesus to others in the midst of our own daily life.
