St Barnabas, Apostle

Acts 11:21-26;13:1-3, Ps 98, Matthew 10:7-13

Barnabas was one of the first converts to Christianity, elected as an Apostle to replace Judas Iscariot. As a follower of Christ he set off with Paul to preach the good news. From his preaching and that of all the Apostles, we have received our own faith 20 centuries later. Like Barnabas we are called to make known what we have received and pass it on in some way to those around us. The blessings of our faith are to be shared, so that others may receive Christ’s blessing through us.
