Lord do not deal with us according to our sins

Imagine if God measured his mercy by our standards? How can I ever be as compassionate and generous as the Father? It got me thinking about ‘giving up’ for Lent. Could I give up complaining about people for Lent? Imagine letting go that grievance I’ve carried for years, or even just refusing to dwell on it, intentionally leaving it with Jesus till Easter. What sort of impact might that have on my thinking, my prayer life and my practical concern for others? What stops me from giving freely and how can I learn to trust our merciful generous God more?
