Flesh and blood

Christ was in every way like us but without sin. In becoming human, the Son of God shared our flesh and blood; and being like us in all things but sin, he was able to set humankind free from its slavery to sin and death. From his infancy and presentation in the Temple, Simeon (inspired by the Holy Spirit) proclaimed the child as light to the nations and the glory Israel. In this way, the child Jesus was dedicated to God and returned by God to be the instrument of our salvation.
