Spanning the ages

The psalmist calls out to a compassionate and merciful God. The pleas for forgiveness and restoration and finally the praise for prayers answered. The language is different but the sentiments are the same as we use, the world over, today. We too know the desperation the psalmist felt when he was at odds with God, just as we know his joy when he was reconciled with him. Our well-being is dependent on our being right with God. Thank you Lord that you span the ages and that your people’s prayers of times gone by can still reflect our own.
