Loved and forgiven

Simon Peter and Judas Iscariot were both victims of their human weakness. Judas was a victim of greed. Peter considered himself to be strong but, when put to the test, he was unable to be brave. Judas deeply regretted his betrayal of Jesus but despaired of ever being forgiven. Peter, too, deeply regretted that he had betrayed Jesus but believed that he was still loved even in his weakness and could receive forgiveness. May Peter’s failing be an inspiration for us to realise that we, too, are loved and forgiven.
