Endurance

“Endurance will win you your lives”. These are the words of our Master. In the first reading we see Daniel, who had been taken captive as a slave, now giving advice to the King who was trembling in his boots at the wrath of God about to overtake him. Daniel and his companions had remained steadfast in the practice of their faith, and God had made them instruments to change the hearts of their oppressors. Jesus promises us an eloquence and a wisdom that our opponents will be unable to resist or contradict. Relying on his word then, we do not give up in our relationships and commitments: for our endurance will win us our lives.
