Travelling lights

These strange instructions for the twofold apostolic ministry would not fit into a modern manual – no food or money, and minimum clothing. The unmistakable message is that pure, raw faith operates for good only when we are prepared to make room for God literally. And so it transpired in this first missionary outreach, of which we are the ultimate legatees. Rejecting those who reject God announces another clear message don’t mess with God. Don’t underestimate His power.

Lord, make my light shine like a beacon burning off all that is unnecessary.
