Share the merciful presence of Christ

Jesus wanted solitude after John’s death. That human detail amplifies the miracle that follows. The disciples report needs, whereas Jesus asks for active compassion. How well do we comprehend this? Parishes are not just for registered parishioners. At every Mass we’re called to bring all the needs of our geographic neighbourhood and the world to the altar, offering our lives in union with Jesus. As our offerings are blessed, broken and shared we become the body of Christ sent out to share God’s love and mercy freely. How is Jesus asking me to be his merciful presence today?
