Making it personal

When I used to meditate on a Gospel scene I usually found myself immersed in the crowd following or listening to Jesus. But one day, during a time of meditation, Jesus suddenly stopped talking, and slowly and deliberately came right through the crowd … to me! He embraced me, and, with his arm around me, took me back up with him to the front. At that very special moment I felt like “the beloved disciple”, of being personally beloved of Jesus. That feeling has remained with me ever since. And be assured, dear reader, that you are his “beloved disciple” too.
