In anticipation

On our Lenten Fridays we anticipate Good Friday. Jesus speaks out a parable to widen the understanding of his own crucifixion. The haunting phrase “they will respect my son”. We listen and know the outcome. Jesus reaches us with loving intent and our relationship enriching our hearts. In the face of energies that seek to do away with faith in him, we find ourselves time and time again being with a Crucified Saviour and sensing a deeper world. What stirs within us as we sit with Jesus who is anticipating his impending shameful death and offers this parable to those who are with him?
