My Brother’s Keeper

The old Penny Catechism has much to say about the first reading. Q/ What are the sins against the Fifth Commandment? A/ They are wilful murder, fighting, quarrelling, injurious words, scandal, bad example, unjust anger, hatred and revenge. The remedy for these evils is to love all others for the sake of Jesus. Again. that Catechism: We are to love others by wishing them well, praying for one another, and never allowing ourselves any thought, word or deed that injures anyone.
