Paul Miki and Companions, Martyrs

Genesis 1: 1-19, Psalm 104, Mark 6: 53-56

Witness

A martyr is a witness. But people witness to Jesus not only by dying for him, as Paul Miki and his companions did. When the Lord healed the Gadarene demoniac he told him to go and share his healing with others. He did as bidden. The people in today’s Gospel recognised Jesus because the formerly possessed man witnessed to them. He had become a ‘dry’ martyr. St Paul and associates please teach us how to witness to the Faith.
