Does your faith reassure others?

We are familiar with the story of Jesus, calming the storm and the message it contains. But there is an intriguing detail; "They took him just as he was"—the implication being that Jesus did not have any baggage; no data projector, no hand-outs. There are times for formal learning, and things such as these are helpful then. But on a typical day, we bring just ourselves. When we run into storms, and people start shouting out, "we are going down," is your faith sufficient to make you a reassuring presence to your companions on the way?
