Love beyond death

It is good to be reminded of God’s perfect love abiding in heaven, but perhaps it is challenging to be reminded that marriage does not exist in heaven. Married love is not always perfect but with Jesus Christ present within it, married love has the potential for personal holiness in each spouse. Helping each other to be holy is surely a lay charism in society. Married love lives on in children when parents have departed for heaven. We know family love lives beyond death and this is comforting knowledge.
