Our tears will all be wiped away

The compassion of God is made visible over and over again through Jesus. In today’s Gospel we see this compassion in an extraordinary miracle. Jesus raised the dead boy to life because his heart went out to the mother! Many mothers and fathers today are mourning the premature death of their children. Expanding our hearts to encompass the whole world we too may be able to feel the compassion of God for millions of heartbroken parents. Today God will not work a miracle to bring these children back to life but gives us the reassurance that death is not the end! The Risen Lord assures us that grieving parents will be reunited with their children.
