Stay awake and listen

God wants us to be holy. Holy persons try to love others as God loves, yet know they will never succeed perfectly. They take ordinary tasks and do them in freedom with generous love. They know they need God and call on the Holy Spirit. A holy person is constantly grateful and attentively hearing that they are loved. It is God’s love which transforms us. Holiness is not the preserve of a pious few; we are all called to be saints. We grow in holiness by staying awake to the daily tasks of love in ordinary life and constantly listening to God’s assurance that we are loved.
