Aroha nui -- with deep affection

Love is the theme of today's scriptures. God -- kind, compassionate and abounding in love. Jesus instructed his apostles to love one another. His supreme act of love was his death for us, and his gift of his body and blood. Judas was offered a piece of bead dipped in oil and sent on his errand before the meal. The last supper and then the treachery committed by one of his chosen ones -- a horrible contrast. All the more reason to emphasise love. This love is to be repeated by all Christian communities. Do we measure up?
