Ecclesiasticus 5:1-8; Psalm 1; Mark 9:41-50

Trust in God

The first reading suggests that it is silly to place our confidence in money or in ‘ill-gotten gains’. They will surely let us down. Our ‘delight is the law of the Lord’. The Gospel reading makes it clear that we are to take strong measures to avoid drifting into sin. Lord, help me to see what I need to do today to remain on the path that leads to you.
