God in us

We are from the earth and of the earth, and within us is a spark of the divine. Our openness to God, who ‘forgives all our guilt … [and] redeems our life from the grave’, enables that spark to become a flame, so that we are empowered to be compassionate as God is compassionate, strengthened to love our enemies and to pray for those who treat us badly.
